Study In Korea With The Korean Government Scholarship Programme For International Students

Application Deadline: October – November for undergraduates and March – April for postgraduates.

Study and live in Korea with this scholarship from the Korean government. The scholarship is designed to help promote academic knowledge acquisition in Korea for participants who could not afford it otherwise. The only limitation of this scholarship is that applicants need to be nominated by the Korean Embassy in their country by their home universities designated by the organization. However, the Korean embassy promises to be non-partisan in their nominations. Any applicants that meet their eligibility requirements and passes their interview will get nominated for the scholarship.

Programme Benefits:

The pragramme offers the following benefits to successful applicants

  • Provision of airfare costs
  • A resettlement grant of KRW 200,000
  • A living allowance of KRW 800,000 for undergraduates and KRW 900,000 for graduates
  • A medical insurance fee of KRW 20,000 per month
  • KRW 800,000 for language courses per quarter
  • A KRW 100,000 reward for excellence during the programme
  • Tuition fees will also be catered for by the programme
  • Research support grant of KRW 210,000 – 240,000 per semester
  • A printing or dissertation grant of KRW 500,000 – 800,000
  • A one-time completion grant of KRW 100,000

Number of Awards: 170 positions for undergraduate applicants and 700 positions for postgraduate applicants

Eligibility: 

  • The applicant and his/her parents need to be citizens of their country of origin to be eligible for this scholarship.
  • Applicants should not hold Korean citizenship.
  • Interested applicants should prove to be of adequate health, both mentally and physically and the ability to stay in a foreign country for a long time.
  • They must be under the age of 25 for undergraduates
  • And under the age of 40 for postgraduates
  • Interested applicants need to have finished or be scheduled to finish formal education of all elementary, middle, high school courses by the date of arrival. (Undergraduate)
