Applications are now open for the ESD Okayama Award 2025, which recognizes outstanding ESD (Education for Sustainable Development) initiatives anywhere in the world. The ESD Okayama Award has been held since 2015 under the joint sponsorship of Okayama City and the ESD Okayama Award Steering Board to honor excellent examples of ESD around the world, thereby supporting the activities of the award-winning project organizations and contributing to the spread of ESD activities.
One representative from the organization(s) implementing the awarded project(s) will be invited to attend the ESD Okayama Award 2025 Ceremony in Okayama, Japan, and will be asked to make a presentation about the project. The Award Ceremony, scheduled for 21 October 2025 (Tuesday), will be held in conjunction with the 14th Global RCE Conference in Okayama City (hosted by the United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability, Okayama City, and the Okayama ESD Promotion Commission).
Prize
- $3,000 per project will be awarded
Eligibility
- ESD projects that have been implemented for more than 2 years by organizations anywhere in the world
Application
- Temporary Registration: At the “Temporary Registration” page, register your organization’s e-mail address. You will receive an automated email.
- Application Online: Apply by filling out the Application Form on the website provided in the automated email.
- Temporary Acceptance: You will receive an automated email with acceptance of your application.
- Completion of Application: You will receive an email from the secretariat upon completion of the application.
