The Aga Khan Foundation is now accepting applications for the Global Leadership Program 2025 in Canada. The AKF leadership program will take place in both online and in-person formats. The in-person program will be held in Ottawa from November 2 – 6, 2025. The world is experiencing rapid changes due to new economic, social, geopolitical, environmental, and technological forces. This fully funded leadership program will provide a platform for Canadian leaders to examine these forces that are impacting lives worldwide. The program aims to equip leaders and experts with the analytical and practical skills needed to drive change and transform the world.

The Aga Khan Foundation Global Leadership Program 2025 will gather a diverse group of mid-career Canadian professionals from various sectors. Participants will meet and work with others who are also working towards a more prosperous and peaceful future for all. The AKF leaders program will include discussions on diverse themes, including climate change, economic transformation, sustainable development, and pluralism. The program will begin in September 2025 and end in June 2026. Participants will remain connected during the whole program through virtual and in-person meetings.

During this professional development program, participants will collaborate with their peers and faculty members and share their knowledge in solving real-world problems. They will explore both local and international challenges and consider their own as well as Canada’s role in solving them. AKFC leadership program will have a hybrid format, which will include a combination of online resources, virtual learning sessions, and an in-person fully funded program in Canada (Ottawa) for 4 days. It will cover all participation costs of the event.

Program Duration

  • In-person program (November 2 – 6, 2025)
  • Online sessions (September 2025- June 2026)

Eligibility

  • Be a citizen or permanent resident of Canada.
  • Be fluent in English.
  • Be available to travel to and attend the in-person program in Ottawa between November 2 and 6 (The cost of travel from anywhere in Canada, accommodation, and meals of the in-person seminar in Ottawa is fully covered by the program.)
  • Be committed to joining at least 10 virtual learning and coaching sessions before and after the in-person program.
  • Complete all questions on the online application form and present all required documentation.
  • Demonstrate a clear desire to learn and a demonstrated a commitment to a more peaceful, prosperous, and pluralist world for all.

  • Fill in the complete application form.
  • Enter your address details, personal information.
  • Answer all the questions asked in the form within the word limit mentioned.
  • Upload the required documents.
  • Click ‘Submit’ to submit your form.
