1. THE UNIVERSITY
Anchor University, Lagos (AUL), is a private faith-based University owned by the Deeper Christian Life Ministry and licensed by the National Universities Commission (NUC) for operation in 2016. AUL has the vision to be a citadel of learning for holistic human transformation and development anchored on the wheels of Character, Competence and Courage.
A. THE POSITION AND DUTIES OF THE REGISTRAR
The Registrar is a Principal Officer and the Chief Administrative Officer of the University. He/she is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration of the University except as otherwise stated by the AUL Conditions of Service. The Registrar is also the Secretary to Governing Council, Senate, Congregation and Convocation. The candidate vying for the position of Registrar must meet the following criteria:
- The candidate must be a person of proven integrity, possess high moral character, an excellent manager of human resources, and a team player. He must be a person with proven leadership qualities and great inter-personal skills.
- The candidate must understand the complexity of a University system and be capable of harnessing the potentials of subordinates to attain the overall goals of the University.
- The candidate must have the ability to develop linkages with the external communities to support the emerging needs of the University.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Applicants for the post of Registrar, Anchor University, Lagos should possess:
- A good (Honours) Degree plus fifteen (15) years post qualification relevant administrative experience in University or comparable institution, with a minimum of five (5) years at the Management level.
- Possession of relevant Higher Degree or Postgraduate professional qualification in the appropriate field(s);
- He must be digitally compliant, up-to-date in the use of information and communication technology and knowledgeable in the automation of Registry operations.
- Candidate must have served for NOT less than five (5) years at the level of Deputy Registrar in a University or comparable institution.
- Membership of recognized, relevant Professional Association and the Association of Nigerian Universities Professional Administrators (ANUPA) is mandatory.
HEALTH AND PHYSICAL FITNESS
The candidate must be in excellent physical and mental health and must be able to cope adequately well with the rigour and challenges associated with the office. The appointed officer will be subjected to a medical examination before resumption.
CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
The appointment shall be for a single tenure of five (5) years with a remuneration package which is comparable to other Universities in Nigeria, and as approved from time to time by the Governing Council of Anchor University. The appointment shall also attract privileges, benefits and associated perquisite of office as obtainable in Nigerian Universities.
B. THE POSITION AND DUTIES OF THE UNIVERSITY LIBRARIAN
The University Librarian is the academic and professional Head of the University Library and is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration and management of the University Library and its branches, providing Library and Information services for the entire University community. The candidate vying for the position of University Librarian must meet the following criteria:
- The candidate must be a person of proven integrity, possess high moral character, an excellent manager of human resources, and a team player. He must be a person with proven
leadership qualities and great inter-personal skills. - The candidate must understand the complexity of a University system and be capable of harnessing the potentials of subordinates to attain the overall goals of the University.
- The candidate must have the ability to develop linkages with the external communities to support the emerging needs of the University.
The candidate must be visionary, innovative, of high integrity with excellent interpersonal communication. He must be able to instil confidence in others and command the loyalty and respect of people, especially the library staff and users.
He/she must fully understand the complexity of the University System and must be able to effectively utilize its human resource to develop a library system that will fully support the aspirations of the University to attain world-class status.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Applicants must possess a good honours degree from a recognized University, a Master degree and PhD in Library and Information Science or its equivalent and must have had not less than fifteen (15) years of relevant post-graduation experience, in University or comparable institution, with a minimum of five (5) years at the Management level. He must also show evidence of active research publication supported by a substantial number of scholarly publications in referred Journals.
The candidate must be a certified Librarian with evidence of membership of recognised professional bodies (e.g. Nigerian Library Association (NLA) etc). He/she must be ICT compliant and able to move the University towards virtual library application and platforms.

C. THE POSITION AND DUTIES OF THE BURSAR
The Bursar is the Chief Financial Officer of the University and shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs of the University. He/she shall also, from time-to-time, provide expert advice on issues of investment to generate revenue as well as disbursement of funds. He/she will perform oversight functions over the University’s Commercial Services. The candidate vying for the position of Bursar must meet the following criteria:
- The candidate must be a person of proven integrity, possess high moral character, an excellent manager of human resources, and a team player. He must be a person with proven
leadership qualities and great inter-personal skills. - The candidate must understand the complexity of a University system and be capable of harnessing the potentials of subordinates to attain the overall goals of the University.
- The candidate must have the ability to develop linkages with the external communities to support the emerging needs of the University.
The Bursar shall oversee all financial, accounting, reporting, resource mobilization, fundraising, sponsorship, grants, subventions, endowment drives, revenue generation activities, pensions, tax and insurance functions of the University.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Applicants must possess a good University degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division in Accounting, Finance or any related discipline from a recognized institution.
- The candidate must possess fifteen (15) years post qualification relevant accounting experience in University or comparable institution, with a minimum of five (5) years at the
Management level. - He/she must be a registered member or Fellow of any of the following Professional Bodies: ICAN, ICMA, CPA, ACCA etc. He/she must be ICT compliant and conversant with current
trends in financial reporting– IFRS,
a. IPSAS. - He/she must have proven knowledge in the use of Accounting Packages such as SAGE, QUICK BOOK, etc.
- Candidate must have served for NOT less than five (5) years at the level of Deputy Bursar in a University or comparable institution.
