The British Council is awarding scholarships, continuing professional development support, and £28,000 of funding to talented individuals.

The British Council is the UK’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities. They support peace and prosperity by building connections, understanding and trust between people in the UK and countries worldwide. They do this through their work in arts and culture, education and the English language. They work with people in over 200 countries and territories and are on the ground in more than 100 countries.

Eligibility

• To be eligible to apply you must have:

a 2:1, or predicted 2:1 in a Bachelor of Honours degree (or equivalent)

or a relevant PhD or master’s degree, or recognised equivalent.

• In one of the following languages:

French

German

Spanish

• They may also consider your application if you have a bachelor of honours degree (or equivalent) in another subject, or a 2.2 (or predicted 2.2) if you can demonstrate significant knowledge of the target languages.
• You must also have secured a place on an eligible non-salaried languages teacher training scheme in England for the 2025/26 academic year by September 2025.
