The EU UN Spotlight Initiative: Prevention of Campus Sexual Violence is a project initiated by the European Union and the United Nations. The focus is on eliminating all forms of violence against women and girls in Nigeria.
Women At Risk International Foundation (WARIF) being an implementing partner on the UN Women Spotlight initiative project, is responsible for working with tertiary institutions within Lagos state and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to address student related gender based violence in various campuses.
The 4-week virtual classroom training is designed to help participants respond to the issues of sexual assault, the concept of consent and how survivors can get adequate help. The virtual programme runs from July to August 2020.
Benefits
• At the end of the training, participants should be able to promote gender-equitable norms, attitudes and behaviours, including on Comprehensive Sexuality Education in line with international standards, for in and out of school settings.
Eligibility
• Open to young Nigerian students;
• Applicants should be currently enrolled in any tertiary institution in Lagos state;
• Applicants should be interested in sexual and gender base violence issues.
