Applications are now open for the 2025 France Excellence Eiffel scholarship program for French higher education institutions. The France Excellence Eiffel scholarship program is a tool developed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to enable French higher education and research institutions to attract the best foreign students to degree programs at the master’s and doctoral levels . It helps train future foreign decision-makers, from the private and public sectors, in priority fields of study.
The 2025 applications session for the Excellence Eiffel scholarships program is related with 7 fields of study.

Social and human sciences
- History, French language and civilization

Benefits
Master level: France Excellence Eiffel scholarship holders receive a monthly allowance of €1,181, to which is added the direct payment of several services: international transport, national transport, insurance, finding accommodation, cultural activities, etc.
Doctoral level: France Excellence Eiffel scholarship holders receive a monthly allowance of €1,800 (since January 1, 2024), to which is added the direct payment of several services: international transport, national transport, insurance, housing search, cultural activities, etc.
For both parts of the program, tuition fees are not covered by the France Excellence Eiffel program.
Eligibility
- The scholarship is for foreign decision-makers, from the private and public sectors, in priority fields of study, and to stimulate applications from foreign students aged 27 years or less for the master’s level and 32 years or less for the doctorate level.
- Be of foreign nationality. This program is reserved for candidates of foreign nationality. Binational candidates, including one of the nationalities is French, are not eligible.
- Master’s level: candidates currently studying in France are ineligible.
- Doctorate level: candidates currently studying in France are eligible. Students in study abroad courses take priority over those who already reside in France.
Application
1st step:
- Contact the Espace Campus France in your country of origin or the cooperation and cultural action service of the French embassy who will be able to guide and advise you in your study project;
- Contact the International Relations department of a French institution by visiting its website, by email or by telephone, to find out the terms and conditions and the deadline for submitting an application to their department.
It is up to you to choose the school or university linked to your study project in France.
All French higher education institutions can submit applications.
2nd step:
- The institution accepts and supports your application for the France Excellence Eiffel scholarship
- The establishment submits your application online, on the dedicated Campus France website
Applications sent directly by students or submitted by foreign institutions will be declared ineligible.
