The Hanjo International Scholarship Foundation aims to help bright students struggling with difficult conditions in developing nations. Considering the global issues of environmental pollution, overpopulation, racism, food shortage, and ethnic conflicts, Japan has been nurturing competent and talented people through this program. Benefits of the Hanjo Foundation Scholarship

  • The scholarship amount of Y¥230,000 per month is given for a 1-2 year degree.
  • The scholarship amount of ¥210,000 per month is given for 3 years of the degree.
  • The scholarship amount of ¥180,000 per month is given for a 4-5-year degree.
  • The opportunity to participate in the conference and other events organized by the foundation.
  • The traveling grant is provided to attend the conferences.

Eligibility

  • You must not hold Japanese citizenship.
  • Students, enrolled in the professional graduate school can apply only if you can submit the research plan.
  • Your enrolment duration should be more than 12 months.
  • For a master’s degree, the age should be 30 years.
  • For PhD degree, the age should be 35 years.
  • You must be passionate about serving your home country.
  • You must have a good understanding of the international friendship.
  • You must be able to carry a basic conversation in the Japanese language.

Selection process

  • First phase: Screening of documents.
  • Second Phase: Interview.
  • Third Phase: Final Result.

Documents required

  • Face photo (max size 500KB, in jpg or gif).
  • A 2-minute movie about the research plan (max size 1GB,  mp4 or mov, in Japanese or English, the face of the applicant should be visible).
  • Academic transcripts.
  • Research Proposal.
  • Recommendation Letter.
  • Admission Letter/Letter of Acceptance.
