Applications for the Kiplinger Fellowship 2025 are now open. The 2025 fellowship will focus on artificial intelligence. They will explore how it can be used appropriately for journalism and its impact on reporting, writing, data journalism and sourcing. Areas of focus will include: ethics and public trust, writing and editing with AI, AI and data, AI for audio and imaging, fakespotting AI images and much more. Kiplinger Fellows typically spend a week in April on Ohio University’s main campus in Athens, where they can engage and learn from the top trainers and leading experts in the field.
Kiplinger Fellows have been chosen from some of the most influential newsrooms across the United States and around the globe. Journalists have been selected from the Associated Press, BBC, CBS News, Chicago Tribune, CNN, Los Angeles Times, National Public Radio, NBC News, New York Times, PBS Newshour, Slate, USA Today, Univision, Washington Post and dozens of other news organizations. International journalists have traveled to Ohio State from Afghanistan, China, Colombia, Great Britain, Greece, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Panama, the Philippines, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine and other nations.

Eligibility
- All candidates for the fellowship must be a working journalist with at least five years of experience.
- They accept applications from media members working in print, broadcast (television, radio and podcasting) and many digital platforms.
- You can be a freelancer. You cannot be a student, faculty member or working in public relations, marketing or ancillary communication professions.
Application
You will be required to provide essential information about yourself, your employer and your career to date. You will be asked to explain why you want to attend this fellowship. You will also need to provide work samples. Samples of you work will be required and, if not in English, translated and sent separately to a provided email. Applications missing any of these components will be deemed incomplete and will not be considered.
