Thomson Reuters Foundation Reporting Programme on the European Forum Alpbach 2020

Deadline: July 26, 2020

Applications are open for the Thomson Reuters Foundation Reporting Programme on the European Forum Alpbach 2020. Thomson Reuters Foundation, in partnership with the European Forum Alpbach and with the support of the National Endowment for Democracy, will run an online reporting workshop for 15 journalists from Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) during the European Forum Alpbach from August 28 – September 1, 2020.

Fundamentals are omnipresent topics in today’s world – especially to journalists. The focus of this online workshop will be on democracy, politics, and law. Before and after your training, you will have access to the entire online conference, and the chance to experience a mix of innovators, policy makers and drivers of change with differing perspectives who will help you dig deeper. You will gain insights into diverse issues that are tackled during the Forum, such as the fundamentals of democracy, European unity, solidarity and dialogue. These fundamentals have guided the activities of the European Forum Alpbach for the past 75 years.

The workshop is an opportunity for you to join and inform the debate on the way forward and to encourage your readers, listeners and viewers to join that debate and make their voices heard. In a world driven by vested interests, this workshop offers you a chance to discover WHO might be doing WHAT to WHOM, WHY and HOW, and WHO are, or should be, the gatekeepers.
