The Clarendon program is a wonderful opportunity for those high achieving international candidates who wish to pursue a master’s degree and DPhil course at the University of Oxford. The fund covers full-tuition and college fees.

At Oxford, Clarendon not only provides approximately 130 new, fully-funded scholarships each year to help outstanding graduate students but also offers the opportunity to join one of the most active, highly international, and multi-disciplinary communities at Oxford.

Oxford University is well known as the second oldest university in the UK, ranks first in the world. It has 38 colleges, which are self – directed and self-governing financially. It also provides financial assistance with various scholarships to students from all around the world.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must have to meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • The candidates are from all over the world.
  • Applicants must commence graduate study at the University of Oxford.
  • Applicants must be enrolled in full time or part-time Master and DPhil courses at the university.
  • Applicants must have an outstanding academic record.
  • Applicants must have at least a first-class honours degree or its equivalent. 
  • There are no restrictions on nationality, ordinary residence or field of study.

Benefits of the Programs

Clarendon awards are highly competitive. Clarendon scholars are nominated for their outstanding academic merit and potential.  

The scholarship will be awarded as follows:

  Clarendon scholarship will cover full tuition fees and college fees.

  Full-time scholars will receive annual grants for living expenses of at least £15,009.

  Part-time scholars receive a study support grant to assist with non-fee costs. 

  Part-time DPhil scholars should expect to receive at least £2,502.

  Part-time Master’s scholars should expect at least £5,003.

Application

Students will automatically consider for Clarendon scholarship if they apply by the relevant January deadline for their course. Note: Do not need to submit a separate application for scholarship.

Step 1: Apply for Admission

To be applying for this program, applicants must recommend taking admission in a master’s degree and DPhil course at the University of Oxford. After taking confirmation, you will automatically be considered for a Clarendon Program.

Entry Requirements

  • Applicants must meet the general entry requirement at the time of admission.
  • If the applicant’s first language is not English, you must be demonstrated English Language Skills.
  • Applicants must hold bachelor degree certificate.

Visa Requirements

As an international student going to the university to study a full-time course lasting longer than six months, you must be applied for a Tier 4 (General) student visa before you arrive in the UK to start your course. Otherwise, you will not be permitted to join the United Kingdom.
