Job Summary
Versus is looking for an intermediate-level backend engineer with the following programming skills:
- Python 3
- Node.js
- HTML5/JavaScript 3
The ideal candidate will have experience building scripts that run in an automated fashion. The candidate will be responsible for either connecting to existing API endpoints to fetch data, or will be connecting to ad-hoc sources to fetch data.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Write functions to connect to API endpoints
- Write functions to scrape data
- Automate functions to run periodically (cronjobs)
- Cleaned retrieved data
- Store data into a warehouse/lake
- Optionally retrieve the data for internal use
- Optionally build an interface for interacting with the data
Skills & Qualifications
- Two years’ experience working with Python and NodeJS
- One year’s experience working with HTML
- Working knowledge of SQL
- Experience working with GCP is a bonus
- Experience working with BigQuery is a bonus
- Experience with web scraping is key/bonus
